…where he still resides in the small town of Hollister. His passion for the outdoors began as a boy with his father Wendell, and his best childhood memories are those spent in the field with him. Beard’s obsession for the whitetail deer grew with age, and the fascination he has for shed antlers quickly got him started collecting them. Beard is the Owner/Operator of an excavating company that he started in 2000. This has given him the freedom to find the time in the fall to chase the elusive whitetail. Beard’s most enjoyable time of the year is late winter and early spring, where he enjoys the many trips spent with his son and father shed hunting, and the miles they have spent together.

…His love for antlers was introduced to him at a very young age. Living about 9 miles out of town the winding road always had giant bucks filtering out of the Flint Hills crossing the road towards evening he was always mesmerized by the giant racks he saw as his father would shine the car lights on the deer. He said those are moments that were engraved in his mind forever and created a deep passion for the whitetail deer.

Graduating from high school his passion for the whitetail deer continued and only became stronger. While joining the blue collar workforce Mike started a side business of repairing deer antlers, buying, selling, trading and most important to him collecting giant whitetail sheds.

After 5 years of being in business part time Mike decided to take the step and turn it full-time and his business is known as “The Antler Collector” 15 years strong dealing with many of the largest corporate companies across North America.Mike’s main business is collecting gigantic unusual world record type whitetail deer shed antlers.

What started as a small business has now turned into a way of life. Mike has been a significant contributor to North American whitetail magazine writing articles and most recently television segments on big whitetail sheds. He is also contributed to Big Buck Magazine out of Canada
And was featured on North American whitetail front cover along with Big Buck front cover holding gigantic shed antlers. Mike’s determination and love for the whitetail deer has allowed him to own the world’s greatest antlers including many typical and non-typical world record sheds with a great understanding of the market.

Mike and his wife Cassandra and their beautiful daughter Jade live in Geary County Kansas. We enjoy helping others in need and anytime we can lend a hand we are there. They are contributors to St Jude’s children’s Mercy Hospital along with their church as well.

In my spare time he enjoys spending time with his family fishing or anything outdoors we can do one of his favorite things to do is Storm Chase I guess being an outdoors type person you have to watch the weather closely and that he does.
