The changing nature of shed hunting

I am new to this forum but I have been an avid shed hunter since 1994. During the past couple decades, I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to look for antlers in several states including my home state of WI. As shed hunting has become more popular I have seen several changes to the sport. For me , I have found that getting permission to shed hunt has become more and more difficult. On land where I do have access I have discovered that I have to walk farther and hunt harder to find the numbers of antlers I did years ago.
With this in mind, I would like to pose the following questions: How has your shed hunting changed over the years? Are you finding as many antlers as you did in the past? What are you doing to make shed hunting today as enjoyable as possible?
